The Best Ways To Instantly Give Your Home A Facelift

July 12, 2023

The way your home looks will feed into how happy you are to live in it. When you think about combining your interior decor with your own personality, character, and needs, you can come up with an amazing decor plan that really suits the four walls you call home. But if the time comes when you want a change, you can give your house a facelift in just a few easy moves! Here are some of the most impactful you’ll want to consider getting done first.

Plant Your Front Lawn

If you’ve got a front lawn, now’s the time to plant it. Big bushes, creeping flowers, tall vines and lattices – all of these will look amazing. They’ll also make the space greener and wildlife friendly, plus the exterior of your home will look much more colorful than just the brown gravel you’ve got lining the path!

And if you don’t have any green space to make use of, you can use planter boxes; line them up, make sure they’re different sizes, and plant as many different species as you like.

Replace the Front Door

The front door to your home is like the eyes on your face; they’re very much the focal point that draws a person’s attention. That means you should think about replacing the front door if you want to make your house look different.

Exterior appeal is just as important as the interior decor, and looking through a composite doors catalogue never hurt anyone! Pick out something that blends with the brick or siding already present on your property, and don’t be afraid to choose a bold or bright color either.

Hang More Art

A room can be instantly transformed by the inclusion of wall art, as well as prints, tapestries, and even a set of shelves covered in your favorite memorabilia. And if you don’t have any art on the walls at the moment, this is the number one decor issue to fix!

Negative wall space can be seriously dampening on a room, especially the more neglected rooms like the hallway and the bathroom. Get yourself a set of nails and a hammer, and make sure the frames you use match the color of the tiles or the wall you’re about to hang them on.

Fill Negative Floor Space

Speaking of negative space – now we turn our attention towards the floor! If you’ve got a lot of empty floor area around your home, put down some rugs, make sure you’ve got a few plants in the corners, and include a few more practical items you can make good use of. Armchairs and bookshelves are the kinds of things we’re talking about here, but anything you can use to pad out the room and have more fun with it will be a good fit.

Does your home need a facelift? If so, make it easy with ideas like these. It might take a weekend or two, but you’ll make a good looking change.
